PRIDE MARCH 2018
While this years march was most certainly a celebration of marriage equality finally a reality long over due, it also served as an important and viable reminder that there is still some work to be done within the LGBTQIA+ communities, such as the safety of the trans community and youth, particularly in areas of violence and suicide in the face of ongoing discrimination. With over 200 groups and organisations this year represented and an estimated 8000 marchers, despite fierce heat, Pride March once again took over St Kilda’s iconic Fitzroy St, with post march festivities spilling out into Catani Gardens.
