DANCE WITH ME
Dance in all its fluidity bridges divides and can communicate effortless without words. With the Australian dance community continually moving to embrace new trends and new faces, 2017 has been an exceptional year for both audiences and makers alike. In celebration and recognition of these triumphs, the Australian Dance Awards, are taking place this coming Sunday, the 24th of September at Arts Centre Melbourne, hosted by the incredible Yana Alana and Benjamin Hancock.
Michelle Silby director of Ausdance Victoria on Australian Dance Awards 2017 “This awards ceremony is an important celebration of the dance industry and the performances reflect the wide diversity of dance in this country. From the urban stylings of Raw and Rugged, to the Ukrainian artistry of Lehenda, the sublime ballet of The Australian Ballet, to the unique contemporary dance works from multiple companies. With performers aged 15 years to 75 years old, the audience will see an array of dancers that will leave you moved and entertained.”
With the night set to feature performances from the likes of Stephanie Lake Company, Yellow Wheel, Murmuration, Raw and Rugged Dance Crew and Djirri Djirri Dance Group, it promises to be an amazing night jam packed with entertainment, featuring the creme de la creme of the Australian dance scene.
